"Oreo" Truffles

I mean.......

Ingredients:
Makes approximately 2 dozen truffles.

Directions:
  1. Place "Oreos" in a sealed Ziploac bag. Smash until the cookies are finely crumbled. Set aside 1/2 cup of crumbs for later.
  2. Thoroughly mix cookie crumbs with cream cheese in a large bowl.
  3. Form mixture into balls, about 1-inch across, and place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.
  4. Melt the chocolate in saucepan over the stove on low heat, stirring frequently. Once completely melted, remove from heat.
  5. Coat the balls with chocolate, and return to lined cookie sheet.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining crumbs you had set aside on top of the wet truffles.
  7. Refrigerate for 1 hour minimum. They are then ready to eat! Freeze any leftover, which there probably won't be. Have you tried Oreo truffles before? Are you going to give the gluten free vegan version a try this weekend??

  2. Oh man, I would kill for an Oreo truffle right now. I'm starting to have occasional sugar cravings on this cleanse, and that sounds so perfect! But I'll have to wait...only 16 more days to go!

    1. Hey Leslie, yes, I bought the gluten free "oreo" cookies, the vegan cream cheese, and the vegan chocolate chips from the Whole Foods in Tarzana, the new one. That store has an entire gluten free aisle in the back! It's amazing.

  15. Holy cow! These were so good. I made these for my birthday "cake." There was not a single truffle left. Admittedly I ate most of them. My incredibly carnivorous, Dairy Queen loving boyfriend and his 13 year old son were raving over these. Too bad they were not quick enough to have seconds. Hey, it was my birthday!
